well, i didn't make it...after knitting furiously this week while trying to get all the pre-thanksgiving prep done i still only have half a sock finished. i still feel like i won, though, because my purpose for joining was to get out of my comfort zone and take a chance on a pictureless pattern, and i ADORE the pattern that i chose (ruth gerstner's smocked socks, pattern here) and will definitely be finishing these, then knitting them again in a non-variegated yarn since the pattern would definitely be cuter in a solid or semi-solid. i also think it's wonderful that costume chick's version and mine seem to look different, because it shows how a pictureless pattern can be interpreted differently by different knitters. i'll post a photo as soon as i can get my camera charged, even though they won't count within the deadline.

thanks for having the knitalong...can't wait for the next one!

  • Congratulations for getting out of your zone and feeling like you accomplished something! And for finding a pattern that you liked--I think that was a big challenge for some folks. :)
I had a great time and am so glad you participated!
